AOAC Certification for iCheck Modular:

Setting a New Standard in Food Fortification Testing

Through AOAC certification, the iCheck Modular device will play a pivotal role in enhancing the sustainability and success of large-scale food fortification programs worldwide

Why AOAC Certification Matters

  • Global Acceptance: Governments and industries worldwide recognize AOAC certification as a mark of reliability, allowing immediate adoption of certified solutions. For example, FSSAI in India and NAFDAC in Nigeria mandate or prefer AOAC-certified testing solutions.
  • Building Trust: Certification provides confidence in the performance and validity of the iCheck Modular methods, encouraging widespread adoption.
  • Streamlining QA/QC: AOAC-certified testing methods eliminate the need for repeated lengthy validation studies, enabling more frequent and efficient monitoring of fortified foods.

QuImpact, in partnership with BioAnalyt, is advancing the future of food fortification quality assurance by achieving AOAC certification for the cutting-edge iCheck Modular device and its testing methods. The AOAC (American Organization of Analytical Chemists) certification is globally recognized as the gold standard in analytical testing, ensuring reliability and trust among both public and private sector stakeholders.

The iCheck Modular is a next-generation portable device designed to simplify and decentralize micronutrient testing. With five targeted testing methods—Vitamin A in edible oil and sugar, Iron in wheat and maize flour, Iron in fortified rice kernels, and Iodate in salt—the device enables cost-effective, rapid, and accurate analysis in local settings. Its AOAC certification will empower government agencies and industry leaders to integrate iCheck Modular into QA/QC processes without requiring additional local validations, facilitating compliance with national standards and global best practices.

Impact on Food Fortification

By making high-quality, certified testing methods accessible and affordable, QuImpact is helping increase the frequency of testing along the food value chain. This ensures better compliance with national standards, leading to higher consumption of fortified foods with essential micronutrients. Greater transparency and data availability will enable risk-based monitoring and ultimately contribute to reducing vitamin and mineral deficiencies in populations most in need.
